Blue Thunder is based on the Movie of the same name where the user is in charge of The Helicoptor which he has stolen to protect.
Like Segas classic game Thunder Blade (which was the Helicoptors answer to AfterBurner or GLoc), As the pilot you have to achieve certain goals whilst being chased by the Owners of the Helicoptor.
To control the helicoptor the User has to hold the Wiimote in the same way as a joystick with the B Button as the trigger. This is like the joystick on a helicoptor. To pull up the Wiimote is pulled towards you, down is to push it away from you. The sighting is controlled by the Direction stick on the nunchuck.
